Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990b:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w środkowej części Europy, na północ docierający do południowych prowincji Fennoskandii, a na południe do północnych Włoch, Krainy i Siedmiogrodu; notowany ponadto z Nowej Kastylii, Kaukazu, północnego Kazachstanu i Syberii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk w dziewięciu krainach. W ostatnim pięćdziesięcioleciu stwierdzony licznie w okolicach Wrocławia. Występuje na pobrzeżach wód i moczarach. Rozwój larwalny odbywa na korzeniach trzciny pospolitej — Phragmites communis Trin. i różnych gatunkach turzyc — Carex L. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano w maju i czerwcu na liściach wymienionych roślin oraz na kwiatostanach kłóci wiechowatej — Cladium mariscus (L.) Pohl.
