Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony głównie w środkowej i południowej części Europy, na północ dochodzi do Danii i południowych prowincji Fennoskandii. Zamieszkuje tereny nizinne i niższe położenia górskie, docierając do strefy lasów bukowych. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko notowany, znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk w różnych częściach kraju. Bionomia podobna jak u P. caprea (DeG.). Jako drzewa i krzewy żywicielskie były podawane dąb, buk, grab, lipa, leszczyna i jarzębina.
