Taxon description
Gatunek europejski, występujący od Łaby do Uralu i od Szwecji południowej (nie znany poza tym z Fennoskandii) do środkowej części Włoch i Jugosławii, wykazany też z Przybajkala. W Polsce dość rzadko spotykany; z Roztocza podał go omyłkowo Tenenbaum (1913), co sam później sprostował (1918). Żyje w bagnistych, silnie zacienionych lasach liściastych. Znajdowany pod butwiejącymi liśćmi, płatami mchów i korą pieńków, niekiedy w towarzystwie Agonum (Limodromus) assimile (Payk.).
