Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 2000:
Gatunek zasiedlający tropikalną Afrykę, gdzie silnie uszkadza drewno drzew liściastych. Z importowanym drewnem był zawleczony do kilku portów we Włoszech. W Polsce tylko raz jeden, w lutym 1989 r. stwierdzono w porcie szczecińskim obecność larw i imagines omawianego gatunku w drewnie importowanym z Konga. Drewno było silnie uszkodzone. Z uwagi na wymagania troficzne chrząszcz ten nie ma szans na zaaklimatyzowanie się w Europie.
