Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii, sięgający daleko poza koło podbiegunowe, a na wschód po Syberię, Azję Mniejszą i Bliski Wschód. W Polsce szeroko rozprzestrzeniony zarówno na terenach nizinnych, jak i górzystych, z kilku krain jednak jeszcze nie wykazywany. Postacie dojrzałe występują od wczesnej wiosny do późnej jesieni. Larwy żerują w zbutwiałych i obumierających gałęziach drzew liściastych, zwłaszcza brzozy, buka, olszy, dębu i wierzby.
