Taxon description
Znany z północnej i środkowej Europy oraz z Syberii i Mongolii. Żyje na różnych wierzbach — Salix caprea L., Salix incana Schr., Salix viminalis L., a według Szulczewskiego (1927) także i na Salix rosmarinifolia L. Niektórzy autorzy sądzą, że może występować w dwóch pokoleniach.
