Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986c:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w środkowej i południowej części Europy, docierający na północ do Anglii, Belgii, Holandii i Danii. W Polsce jest chrząszczem mało znanym, notowanym tylko z pięciu krain, nie poławianym od co najmniej 70 lat. Występuje na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich głównie w pomieszczeniach zamkniętych — stodołach, stajniach, kurnikach i gołębnikach. Jest notowany jako szkodnik w spichrzach zbożowych i piekarniach, rzadziej na swobodzie w zmurszałym drewnie starych drzew i pod odstającą korą.
