Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
[KFP 1813: Quedius alpestris] Gatunek obejmujący swym zasięgiem tereny wysokogórskie w środkowej Europie, na zachód sięgający do Francji, a na południe do północnych Włoch. W Polsce znany z pojedynczych stanowisk górskich. Z uwagi na warunki środowiskowe, jakich wymaga omawiany gatunek, wzmianki o występowaniu na Wyżynie Krakowsko-Wieluńskiej wydają się błędne. Występuje w szparach skalnych, pod kamieniami, wilgotnym mchem i porostami, opadłym listowiem i w ściółce.
Burakowski et al. 1980:
[KFP 1840: Quedius spurius] Gatunek górski o niedostatecznie poznanym rozmieszczenia, gdyż uważany dawniej za formę krótkoskrzydłą Quedius alpestris Heer. Poza Polską wykazywany dotychczas z czeskich Karkonoszy, Alp Bawarskich, Styrii i Karyntii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany. Bionomia słabo poznana, na Babiej Górze znaleziony w kotle pod Kościółkami (1480 m n.p.m.) wśród mchów rosnących w szczelinach rumoszu skalnego oraz na Główniaku (1610 m n.p.m.) wśród murawy wysokogórskiej.
