Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1980:

Gatunek znany z zachodniej, środkowej i południowo-wschodniej Europy. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, łowiony jedynie na kilku stanowiskach w południowej części kraju. Na podstawie dotychczasowych wiadomości można, sądzić, że przez Polskę przebiega północna granica jego zasięgu. Zasiedla pobrzeża szybko płynących, zimnych potoków leśnych na podgórzach do około 800 m n.p.m. Występuje wśród ociekających wodą mchów, zwłaszcza z rodzaju Fontinalis sp., między roślinnością nadwodną i pod opadłymi, wilgotnymi liśćmi.
