Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1985:
Gatunek zamieszkujący północną i środkową część Europy, notowany też ze wschodniej Francji oraz z Jugosławii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadki, odkryty u nas przed przeszło 40 laty w Jedwabnie na Mazurach i na tej podstawie notowany ogólnikowo z byłych Prus, lecz od tego czasu brak nowych danych. Rozwija się w stosunkowo wilgotnym, przegrzybiałym drewnie cienkich gałęzi dębowych i leszczynowych, leżących na ziemi. Larwy żerują w zewnętrznej warstwie drewna, drążąc chodniki równoległe do włókien drzewnych.
