Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1997:

Gatunek obejmuje zasięgiem prawie cały obszar Palearktyki oprócz Afryki Północnej i Japonii. W Polsce, aczkolwiek nie jest jeszcze znany z kilku krain, występuje prawdopodobnie na całym obszarze prócz wyższych partii górskich. Zasiedla tereny nizinne i górzyste do wysokości około 1400 m n.p.m. Spotyka się go przeważnie w piaszczystych miejscach na polach, pastwiskach, ugorach, suchych murawach i wrzosowiskach. Żyje na szczawiu polnym — Rumex acetosella L. Larwy żerują w korzeniach i dolnej części łodygi.
