Szelegiewicz 1968:

Prawie kosmopolityczny, prawdopodobnie pochodzi z Dalekiego Wschodu (?Rhopalosiphoninus deutzifoliae Shinji, 1924).
U nas aholocykliczny. Żyje na bulwach ziemniaków — Solanum tuberosum L. i cebulkach tulipanów w kopcach i przechowalniach. Notowany jako wektor kilku chorób wirusowych.
