Taxon description
Prawie kosmopolityczny, ale większość danych spoza Europy wątpliwa. W Europie sprawdzone dane pochodzą z Anglii, Szwecji, Francji, Holandii, Belgii, Niemiec, Polski, Czechosłowacji, Austrii i Węgier.
Gatunek różnodomny i holocykliczny. Migruje z kołokoczki południowej — Staphylea pinnata L. na rośliny zielne, zwłaszcza jednoliścienne. Notowany jako wektor chorób wirusowych.
