Taxon description
Gatunek kosmopolityczny, rozmieszczony głównie na obszarach o ciepłym klimacie.
Niewątpliwie gatunek zbiorczy, wymagający nowych badań taksonomicznych i bionomicznych. Żeruje na zbożach — Secale cereale L., Hordeum vulgare L. i trawach — Agropyron repens (L.) P. B. Notowany jako szkodnik pszenicy, jęczmienia i innych zbóż oraz jako wektor wielu chorób wirusowych.
