Taxon description
Prószyński et Staręga 1971:
Podgatunek nominatywny zamieszkuje prawie całą Europę. Z Korsyki, Włoch, Szwajcarii i Dalmacji znany jest Scotophaeus blackwalli isabellinus (Simon, 1873), z Francji i Włoch – Scotophaeus blackwalli politus (Simon, 1878) i z Azorów Scotophaeus blackwalli furtadoi (Simon, 1883). U nas żyje pod korą drzew.
