Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1978:
Zasięg gatunku ograniczony do południowej Europy, Kaukazu i Azji Mniejszej. Z uwagi na podobieństwo do Scydmaenus (Cholerus) hellwigii (Herbst) niekiedy omyłkowo wykazywany ze środkowej Europy. Ogólnikowa wzmianka M. Łomnickiego, prawdopodobnie błędna, zaliczająca omawiany gatunek do fauny Polski, opierała się na danych odnoszących się do terenu na południowy wschód od naszej granicy.
