Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1986b:

Gatunek palearktyczny, w Europie szeroko rozmieszczony, ale nie docierający do obszarów nadatlantyckich, a na północ sięgający po Karelię i południowe prowincje Szwecji i Finlandii. W Polsce znany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Jest chrząszczem bardzo rzadko i przeważnie pojedynczo spotykanym. Występuje w zadrzewieniach, na wilgotnych łąkach i pobrzeżach wód. Poławiano go na krzewach i drzewach liściastych. Zimuje w ściółce, wśród mchów, pod korą kasztanowców i topól rosnących pojedynczo w parkach i przy drogach.
