Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Motyl rzadko spotykany, żyje w okolicach bagiennych, nad brzegami rzek, na podmokłych łąkach i torfowiskach. Pojawia się w dwu pokoleniach: w drugiej poł. V i w VII do poł. VIII. Gąsienice żerują na wielu niskich roślinach jak szczaw, trzcina, pałka wodna, turzyce, a także tarnina i in. w VI i od VIII do X. Poczwarki zimują w mocnych, gęstych oprzędach barwy białej, między liśćmi nad ziemią. Poczwarka, wyjęta z kokonu, wykonując ruchy obrotowe odwłokiem posuwa się szybciej niż gąsienica tego gatunku.
