Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1992:
Gatunek rozsiedlony w Europie od krajów śródziemnomorskich do Anglii i południowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii, wykazywany poza tym z Kaukazu. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany, notowany z zachodniej i południowej części kraju; jedyna wzmianka sprzed 70 laty o występowaniu w Puszczy Białowieskiej winna być potwierdzona nowymi badaniami. Bionomia i ekologia tego gatunku są poznane niedostatecznie. Według A. Hoffmanna (1958) chrząszcz ten we Francji występuje rzadko na terenach bagnistych, moczarach i w rowach; imago żyje na mięcie nadwodnej — Mentha aquatica L. i mięcie okrągłolistnej — Mentha rotundifolia (L.) Huds. W Europie Środkowej omawiany gatunek jest monofagiem na głowience pospolitej — Prunella vulgaris L. W Polsce łowiony na murawach kserotermicznych, suchych łąkach i pastwiskach oraz ciepłych pobrzeżach lasów.
