Taxon description
[KFP 1464: Stenus providus] Gatunek występujący w środkowej i południowej Europie, wykazany także z Syberii. Rozmieszczenie w Polsce poznane niedostatecznie na skutek mylenia go ze Stenus (Stenus) clavicornis (Scop.). Z dotychczasowych skąpych danych można sądzić, że na południu kraju jest częściej spotykany niż na północy. O występowaniu w byłych Prusach wątpi A. Horion (1963). Występuje na torfowiskach, terenach bagiennych, w cienistych lasach, pod opadłym listowiem i wśród mchów.
[KFP 1465: Stenus rogeri] Gatunek rozmieszczony głównie w środkowej Europie oraz sąsiadujących obszarach, znany również z nielicznych stanowisk w Hiszpanii, Anglii i południowej Fennoskandii. W Polsce notowany tylko z południowej części kraju, przy tym niektóre stanowiska nie są pewne, gdyż mylono omawiany gatunek ze Stenus (Stenus) clavicornis (Scop.). Występuje zarówno na terenach otwartych jak i lesistych, zwykle pod opadłymi liśćmi, gnijącymi szczątkami roślinnymi i wśród mchów. Przez niektórych badaczy uważany za gatunek torfowiskowy.
