Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1986b:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w południowej i środkowej Europie, docierający na północ do południowych części Anglii i Szwecji, notowany również z Algierii; wszędzie poławiany rzadko i sporadycznie, niekiedy tylko w miejscu pojawu występujący liczniej. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadkie znany z nielicznych stanowisk w pięciu krainach, tylko na Śląsku Górnym częściej spotykany. Zamieszkuje lasy liściaste na terenach nizinnych i w niższych położeniach górskich. Występuje pod korą i w zmurszałym drewnie pieńków i pni dębów, buków i klonów pokrytych grzybnią workowców (Ascomycetes), głównie przez Ustulina maxima (Hall.) i Daldinia concentrica (Bolt.) Ces. et de Not.
