Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1997:
Gatunek zamieszkujący prawie całą Europę, sięgający na północy w Skandynawii w przybliżeniu do 66°N. W Polsce występuje na całym obszarze z wyjątkiem wyższych partii górskich, nie jest jednak jeszcze notowany z kilku krain. Zasiedla wilgotne lasy, przydroża, doliny potoków i rzek, aluwia nadrzeczne i zalewiska. Żyje na wierzbie kruchej — Salix fragilis L., wierzbie purpurowej — S. purpurea L. i wierzbie trójpręcikowej — S. triandra L. Postacie dojrzałe spotykano także na wierzbie siwej — Salix incana Schrk. i topoli czarnej — Populus nigra L. Samica składa jajo w wierzchołkowej części liścia. Larwa drąży szeroką minę wzdłuż brzegu liścia, na końcu miny wygryza z górnego i dolnego oskórka kolisty wycinek, który z larwą spada na ziemię. Przepoczwarczenie odbywa się w komorze utworzonej w wycinku liścia.
