Taxon description
Gatunek rozmieszczony w zachodniej, południowej i środkowej Europie oraz w południowej części Skandynawii. W Polsce chrząszcz nadzwyczaj rzadko spotykany, notowany tylko z czterech krain. Zasiedla zarówno silnie ocienione zarośla, jak i otwarte, nasłonecznione przestrzenie. Znajdowany w spróchniałych pniach i pieńkach, pod opadłym listowiem, wśród mchów i pod kamieniami.
