Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1973:
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową, zachodnią i środkową Europę, wykazany też z Azji Mniejszej. Zasiedla pobrzeża bieżących wód w terenach górzystych, prowadzi skryty tryb życia, przebywa zwykle pod powierzchnią ziemi, skąd w czasie powodzi bywa wypłukiwany i wtedy częściej znajdowany w napływkach.
