Gatunek prawdopodobnie holarktyczny, o niezbyt jednak dokładnie poznanym rozmieszczeniu – był przez długi czas mylony z Theridion mystaceum L.K. Żyje na skałach oraz na ścianach murowanych budynków, nawet w dużych miastach.
