Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1997:

Gatunek wykazywany z południowej części Europy oraz Algierii, Maroka, Syrii i Kaukazu. W Polsce należy do wielkich rzadkości; notowano go z kilku stanowisk w tylko dwu południowych krainach. S. Smreczyński (1974) w kluczu do ryjkowców krajowych podał tylko stanowisko w Starym Sączu, gdzie był znaleziony na śródleśnej polanie. Wzmiankę tą opatrzył komentarzem «Znalezienie niewątpliwie wyjątkowe i gatunek ten nie wchodzi zapewne stale w skład fauny». Później jednak T. urens (Gyll.) został znaleziony przez kilku badaczy w Pieninach, co upoważniło do zamieszczenia go w wykazie chrząszczy Polski (Mroczkowski i Stefańska 1992). Żyje na ostrożeniu polnym — Cirsium arvense (L.) Scop., roślinie rosnącej na polach, pastwiskach, przydrożach i w zaroślach.
