Taxon description
Niekiedy importowany z Ameryki do krajów europejskich (Anglia, Irlandia, Dania, Holandia, RFN, Szwecja i Finlandia), jednak tu nigdzie nie zaaklimatyzował się. Był znajdowany zwykle w magazynach zbożowych, składach z towarami spożywczymi, drogeriach i aptekach. W Polsce został dotychczas stwierdzony tylko w Poznaniu w 1969 roku — w zbiorach Instytutu Zoologii PAN w Warszawie znajdują się cztery okazy z tego miasta, przesłane przez prof. Bohdana Kiełczewskiego (M. Mroczkowski*).
