Taxon description

Burakowski et al. 1992:

Gatunek zasiedlający całą strefę lasów iglastych w Palearktyce, notowany również z Ameryki Północnej. Żeruje głównie na świerku, jodle i sośnie. Spotykano go również w drewnie kosodrzewiny, modrzewia, limby i wejmutki. Opada uschnięte drzewa stojące, kłody leżące oraz pniaki. Żerowisko i tryb życia podobne jak u innych drwalników.
