Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek zamieszkujący południową i środkową część Europy, notowany ponadto z Kaukazu i państw środkowoazjatyckich. Zasiedla całą Polskę z wyjątkiem wyższych położeń górskich. W południowych krainach występuje pospolicie, w północnej części kraju rzadko i lokalnie. Jest gatunkiem kserotermofilnym. Żyje na lucernie siewnej — Medicago sativa L. i lucernie sierpowatej — M. falcata L. Postacie dojrzałe pojawiają się na roślinach w czerwcu i żerują do sierpnia. Larwy żerują w owocach, które ulegają zniekształceniu.
