Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Dość pospolity gatunek motyla, spotykany w środowiskach otwartych i nasłonecznionych lasach w dwu pokoleniach: w V i VI oraz w VII i VIII. Gąsienice żerują na pokrzywie, oprzędy budują nad ziemią. Zimują poczwarki. Motyl zielonkawą barwą odróżnia się łatwo od brązowo ubarwionej trzysterki (Abrostola trigemina).

Heintze 1990:
Motyl równie pospolity, jak gatunek poprzedni, występujący w podobnym czasie. Gąsienice żerują na pokrzywie oraz chmielu w VI i VII oraz od VIII do X. Gąsienice przed zbudowaniem oprzędu zmieniają barwę z zielonej na czerwonofioletową. Oprzęd budują między liśćmi, nad ziemią. Gatunek zimuje w stadium poczwarki.
