Taxon description
Heintze 1990:
Pięknie ubarwiony, o szlachetnych odcieniach brązu, szarości i czerni motyl, występuje rzadko i lokalnie. Spotykany na południu kraju i niektórych innych okolicach, lata w VII i VIII. Gąsienice, bardzo przypominające jasną odmianę gąsienic poprzedniego gatunku (Boarmia repandata), żerują od IX do V, z przerwą na sen zimowy. Roślinami żywicielskimi są wierzby, brzozy i niektóre inne drzewa liściaste, liście jagód, wrzos, niektóre drzewa iglaste i rośliny zielne. Poczwarki przebywają pod powierzchnią ziemi bez oprzędów.
