Taxon description
Gatunek rozsiedlony niemal w całej Europie, w Fennoskandii sięgający poza koło podbiegunowe, na wschód dochodzący do Uralu i po Bajkał, notowany poza tym z Kaukazu i Zakaukazia. W Polsce znany głównie z terenów pagórkowatych i górzystych w krainach południowych, z pozostałego obszaru notowany z nielicznych rozproszonych stanowisk. Zasiedla drzewostany iglaste, zwłaszcza sosnowe i świerkowe. Cykl rozwojowy trwa dwa lata. Postacie dojrzałe występują od czerwca do sierpnia, największe nasilenie pojawu przypada na lipiec. Chrząszcze spotykano na kwiatach wiązówki błotnej — Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim., złocieni — Chrysanthemum L., świerzbnic — Knautia L. oraz kwiatostanach baldaszkowatych — Umbelliferae, Larwy odbywają rozwój w drewnie martwych lub suchych sosen i świerków oraz w ich pieńkach i w grubych gałęziach leżących na ziemi.
