Taxon description
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w zachodniej i środkowej Europie oraz w południowej części Fennoskandii. W Polsce bardzo rzadko spotykany chrząszcz, znany zaledwie z kilku stanowisk. Występuje od późnej jesieni do wiosny w wilgotnych lasach w murszejących, starych drzewach, pod opadłym listowiem, płatami mchu i w gnijących grzybach.
