Taxon description
Gatunek o zasięgu ograniczonym do obszarów górskich w środkowej części Europy. W Polsce pewne stanowiska znajdują się w Sudetach, Pieninach i Bieszczadach. Ogólnikowe wzmianki o występowaniu w Tatrach winny być udokumentowane nowymi szczegółowymi danymi. Stanowiska na Śląsku Dolnym są niepewne — możliwe, że wzmianki o występowaniu tam A. contristata (Kraatz) (Gerhardt 1905) oparte były na znalezieniu okazów zniesionych wodami powodziowymi Nysy Kłodzkiej na obszary nizinne. Sam J. Gerhardt później (1910) nie uwzględnił tego gatunku w spisie chrząszczy śląskich. Znajdowany pod rozkładającymi się szczątkami roślinnymi, ekskrementami i w gniazdach świstaków.
