Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1995:
Gatunek występujący w południowej części Europy Środkowej, w południowej i zachodniej Europie oraz w zachodniej części Afryki Północnej. W Polsce drążyn miedzioryj jest rzadko notowany, znany przeważnie z pojedynczych stanowisk w tylko siedmiu krainach. Z Niziny Wielkopolsko-Kujawskiej podany błędnie z miejscowości Grochol koło Bydgoszczy zamiast Gródek koło Bydgoszczy (M. Wanat*). Zasiedla pola, ogrody, pastwiska, ugory i miejsca ruderalne. Żyje na różnych roślinach krzyżowych (Cruciferae), jak kapusta warzywna — Brassica oleracea L., gorczyca polna — Sinapis arvensis L., dwurząd murowy — Diplotaxis muralis (L.) Dc. i dwurząd wąskolistny — D. tenuifolia (Juslen) Dc. Larwa żeruje w korzeniach i w podstawie łodygi.
