Taxon description
Szeroko rozmieszczony w Europie.
Gatunek holocykliczny i jednodomny. Żeruje na młodych pędach, liściach i kwiatach bieńców — Melandrium album (Mill.) Garcke, Melandrium noctiflorum (L.) Fr. i wyjątkowo Melandrium rubrum (Weig.) Garcke, lepnicy — Silene inflata (Salisb.) Sm. oraz firletki i smółki. Kolonie tej mszycy odwiedzane są zwykle przez mrówki. Notowany jako wektor chorób wirusowych.
