Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Górski gatunek rozprzestrzeniony głównie w środkowej Europie, występujący również lokalnie we Włoszech i na Półwyspie Bałkańskim. W Polsce jest chrząszczem rzadko spotykanym, łowionym tylko na nielicznych stanowiskach w południowej części kraju. Według A. Horiona (1967) występowanie tego gatunku w byłych Prusach wątpliwe. Zasiedla głównie lasy górskie, dociera do strefy alpejskiej. Znajdowany pod płatami mchów, opadłym igliwiem i listowiem, chrustem leżącym na ziemi i przy wyciekającym soku z drzew.
