Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1985:
Gatunek występujący w południowej części Europy, na wschód przez Azję Mniejszą dochodzący do Iranu i Tadżykistanu; notowany ponadto z Afryki Północnej. W Polsce nie występuje — wzmianka A. Richtera dotyczy prawdopodobnie Ukrainy. Cykl rozwojowy trwa co najmniej dwa lata. Larwy żerują w korzeniach szczawiu Rumex L. Postacie dojrzałe są poławiane od maja do września. A. Richter (1952) podaje, że żerują one na drzewach owocowych, objadając liście i młodą korę pędów, natomiast według L. Schaefera (1949) przebywają one na miejscach suchych wśród niskiej roślinności lub na ziemi w pobliżu roślin żywicielskich.
