Taxon description
Gatunek znany głównie ze środkowej Europy, Francji, Szwajcarii, Włoch i Jugosławii, nadto notowany z kilku prowincji południowych Fennoskandii i wschodniej części Ameryki Północnej. W Polsce chrząszcz rzadko spotykany. Występuje na piaszczystych pobrzeżach rzek, stawów i kałuż, przeważnie pod opadłymi liśćmi i napływkami.
