Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1990b:
Gatunek obejmujący zasięgiem południową i środkową część Europy, na północ docierający do Danii, kilku południowych prowincji Szwecji i Finlandii oraz Karelii, na wschód docierający do Syberii Zachodniej. W Polsce chrząszcz pospolity, występujący od wybrzeży Bałtyku aż po Tatry, ale jeszcze nie jest znany z niektórych krain. Żeruje na liściach różnych gatunków wierzb, rzadziej topól. Poławiany od wczesnej wiosny do jesieni.
