Taxon description
Gatunek zamieszkujący środkową i północną część Europy, docierający w Skandynawii do koła podbiegunowego. W Polsce znany z nielicznych stanowisk rozproszonych w różnyh częściach kraju. Występuje na torfowiskach, pobrzeżach rzek i zrębach leśnych. Żyje na brzozie omszonej — Betula pubescens Ehrh. Według piśmiennictwa larwy żerują prawdopodobnie w kwiatostanach żeńskich.
