Taxon description
Gatunek stosunkowo niedawno opisany z Węgier, według M. Mroczkowskiego (1975) występujący w Europie od Norwegii do Bułgarii i od Francji do Uralu, notowany także z Kazachstanu i Syberii Zachodniej. W Polsce notowany z nielicznych stanowisk tylko w pięciu krainach. Bionomia jest poznana niedostatecznie. Występuje głównie na terenach suchych i piaszczystych — na wydmach jest poławiany między korzeniami bylicy pospolitej — Artemisia vulgaris L., na pobrzeżu morskim na wyrzuconych na brzeg wodorostach. Znajdowano go także na trupach kręgowców i bezkręgowców. W naszych warunkach klimatycznych daje jedno pokolenie, a zimują prawdopodobnie postacie dojrzałe.
