Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek występujący w północnej, środkowej i wschodniej Europie (prócz jej części południowej), notowany również z zachodniej Syberii. W Polsce rzadko i sporadycznie poławiany. Występuje głównie w zarośniętej strefie przybrzeżnej jezior i dużych stawów, niekiedy łowiony w mniejszych zbiornikach wodnych i w rzekach.
