Taxon description
Gatunek notowany z Europy i Syberii, jednak dokładne jego rozsiedlenie poznane niedostatecznie, gdyż często mylony z G. (G.) grisescens (Joannis) i G. (G.) nymphaeae (L.). W Polsce znany tylko z sześciu krain, prawdopodobnie szerzej rozsiedlony, lecz nie odróżniany od G. (G.) nymphaeae (L.). Żeruje na różnych gatunkach rdestów — Polygonum L. i szczawiów — Rumex L. związanych z siedliskami wodno-błotnymi. W miejscach występowania często masowy.
