Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek obejmujący swym zasięgiem południową i zachodnią Europę oraz północną Afrykę. W środkowej Europie spotykany sporadycznie i pojedynczo, zdaje się, że nie tworzy on tu trwałych populacji. Dane o nielicznych stanowiskach w Polsce wymagają potwierdzenia nowymi materiałami. Występuje zarówno w wodach słodkich jak i w słonawych, w czystych wodach drobnych zbiorników wodnych oraz spokojnych miejscach wolno płynących wód.
