Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Gatunek rozprzestrzeniony w prawie całej Europie z wyjątkiem skrajnych części południowej i północnej (nie znany dotychczas z Norwegii), poza tym wykazany z Syberii i Zakaukazia. Dość licznie spotykany w zarośniętej strefie przybrzeżnej wód wolno płynących, niekiedy rzadko i sporadycznie poławiany w jeziorach, stawach, starorzeczach i łachach.
