Gatunek występuje w krajach tropikalnych i subtropikalnych; w klimacie umiarkowanym w szklarniach w bardzo licznych krajach. Polifag; w Polsce na rodzajach Ficus L., Evonymus L., Livistona R. Br., Aucuba Thbg., Myrtus L., Acacia W. Mill., Laurus L., Palmae (Jam.), Rhamnus L., Hovea Becc. i innych.
