Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1980:
Gatunek słonawiskowy, zasiedlający wybrzeża morskie głównie w zachodniej Europie i w basenie Morzą Śródziemnego, notowany również z nielicznych stanowisk w Danii, RFN, NRD, Polski i południowej Skandynawii. Znajdowany przeważnie pod morszczynami na piaszczystych plażach morskich. W Polsce wielokrotnie notowany z Pobrzeża Bałtyku. Z uwagi na warunki środowiskowe, jakich wymaga omawiany gatunek, wzmianki J. Gerhardta o występowaniu na Śląsku są niewiarygodne, tym bardziej, że ten sam autor później (1910) nie wykazał tego gatunku w spisie chrząszczy śląskich. Również według A. Szujeckiego (1968, 1969) wykazał go omyłkowo Sz. Tenenbaum (1923) na podstawie blednie oznaczonego Heterothops quadripunctulus (Grav.). A. Horion (1965) wątpi o występowaniu na Śląsku i w byłych Prusach oraz w ogóle na stanowiskach śródlądowych.
