Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1976:
Pospolity, szeroko rozpowszechniony gatunek, rozmieszczony od Wysp Kanaryjskich, północnej Afryki przez prawie całą Europę (prócz skrajnych części północnych) aż po Chiny. Występuje w wodach wolno płynących lub stojących różnych rodzajów jak rzeki, potoki, łachy, stawki, bajorka, glinianki, rowy i sfagnowe torfianki. Spotykany głównie w miejscach o dnie piaszczystym, żwirowatym lub gliniastym.
