Taxon description
Burakowski et al. 1985:
Gatunek europejski, prócz północnych skrajnych obszarów rozprzestrzeniony od Pirenejów aż do europejskiej części ZSRR. Wszędzie występuje lokalnie, a jest poławiany rzadko i sporadycznie. W Polsce jest chrząszczem rzadko spotykanym, znanym tylko z pojedynczych stanowisk w trzech krainach. Odbywa rozwój w grubych, biało butwiejących pniach buków, wiązów i wierzb. Larwy żerują w drewnie w miejscach pozbawionych kory lub w dziuplach. Postacie dojrzałe poławiano od maja do lipca.
